STRATA Raises over $100,000 for Local Charities

On Tuesday, October 27, STRATA Networks granted an $8,500 donation, shared between the Duchesne County & Vernal City Victims Advocacy Centers, as a result of their spring Charity Golf Classic held in May. With this donation, the charity event has raised more than $100,000 over the past 14 years.

Since its inception 14 years ago, the Charity Golf Classic has always used its funds to support local charitable entities within the Uintah Basin. Past donation recipients include Uintah Basin Association of Governments Meals on Wheels program, families of the Army National Guard, Search and Rescue Squads, childhood and youth educational programs, Uintah Basin food pantries, and Radiation Vacation Van.

“We feel very fortunate to be in the position to help support the community in which we live and work,” Bruce Todd, General Manager/CEO of STRATA Networks, said. “We owe the success of reaching $100,000 in charitable donations to the hard work of STRATA employees who serve on the Charity Golf Classic committee, as well as the support of local sponsors and golfers who attend the tournament each year. We are very proud to be part of such a wonderful community and are happy to contribute to making it an even better place.”

The donation to Vernal City’s Victims Advocate Group was accepted by Director Alisha Gowen during a Chamber of Commerce luncheon held on Tuesday. During their presentation, Tyler Rasmussen, Marketing Manager for STRATA Networks, announced that the non-profit also qualified for a $5,000 donation match from CoBank’s Sharing Success program. Gowen said that the funds will be used to go towards helping hundreds of victims affected by domestic violence in Vernal and surrounding areas.

Alisha Sabin, Program Coordinator for Duchesne County Victims Advocacy Center, accepted the donation for Duchesne County’s program and said that the organization is planning to use their portion of the donation to go towards their emergency funds used to relocate and assist victims and their families during crises.

STRATA’s 2015 Charity Golf Classic is scheduled for May 13 at Roosevelt City Golf Course and May 20 at the Dinaland Golf Course. For more information, please contact Tyler Rasmussen at 622-5007, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
